THE Pearly King and Queen of Peckham will visit Waterloo as part of the official launch of the new look Lower Marsh Market.

Market operator Westminster Artisans has taken over the running of the market for a one-year pilot period, with the aim of attracting new traders and new shoppers to the iconic street.

The launch event will run from 5.30pm - 7.30pm on Thursday, October 6th and will also feature free giveaways, face painting, free tasters and music from Bowjangles.

Drinks and entertainment will be available at Lower Marsh bars and pubs and food, artisan and organic goods, clothing and jewellery stalls will all be on the street.

The event will also provide an opportunity to browse through the existing range of brilliant independent shops.

After the launch event Westminster Artisans will continue to bring new traders to Lower Marsh on Wednesdays to Fridays, with late night stalls on Thursdays and occasional Saturday markets. The market will continue to operate as usual on the other days of the week.
