Our area received more positive headlines after journalists were tipped off about a special promotion at Freshcut café in The Cut.

The café’s owner Phod Hajiantonis featured on the front page of the South London Press after he pledged to knock 10 per cent off of the bill of anyone who made him laugh with a joke.

The story was subsequently picked up by The Evening Standard, and has become a major talking point among customers.

Mr Hajiantonis came up with the promotional idea to cheer up customers and spoke to Waterloo Quarter, who helped him to publicise it through the media.
