The owner of Freshcut cafe in The Cut has challenged YOU to make him laugh in return for a 10 per cent discount.

Phod Hajiantonis has promised customers he will slice off a chunk of their bills if they come in and tell him an amusing joke.

Mr Hajiantonis is also offering a prize of lunch for two for whoever tells him the best joke before the offer ends at the end of September.

He said: "I'm sick and tired of all the doom and gloom around so we thought we would try this to raise a smile among our customers.

"It has been going really well so far."

The jokes cannot be rude and must be funny enough to make the staff smile to qualify for the discount.

Freshcut is famous locally for its Firecracker Chicken sandwiches, and can be found next to Dress2Kill opposite The Young Vic.
