Vintage Scooter Rally Arrives in Lower Marsh

Over 120 vintage scooters appeared on Lower Marsh on 23rd July in the finale of a ride-out that delighted scooter enthusiasts, residents and visitors alike. The ‘Scoot the Thames’ event was organised by Bob Morris a local scooter enthusiast with a passion for Lower Marsh, who wanted to use the event to bring more people to the area.

Riders enjoyed the sights of 60s Lambrettas, Vespas and full ‘modded up’ scooters covered in lights and mirrors. A prize draw of £200 of clothes donated from fashion designer Ben Sherman was presented at the end of the day. James Pears, owner of Café del Marsh, said: ‘The event was great and brought a lot of people to Lower Marsh. I wouldn’t mind seeing it repeated every Saturday!’ Head to Lower Marsh around 2pm on September 10th to see the scooters arrive back from their next ride-out.
