LICENSEES have been warned to expect a very busy night on New Year’s Eve.

The Mayor’s end of year celebrations on the South Bank are expected to generate huge crowds.

Visitors to the fireworks display will access viewing areas via York Road, Belvedere Road and Westminster Bridge Road, but these routes will close as the areas reach capacity between 9pm and 11pm.

Bars and restaurants should advise customers not to leave after 11pm as no access will be available to the fireworks display after this time.

Lower Marsh will be closed after midnight. If businesses want to enable guests to gain access after midnight they should position a member of staff at barrier lines.

More portable toilets will be provided around the station this year following requests from businesses.
