| Circus Event A Huge Success |
![]() Jugglers, Magicians, Strong People and Clowns can all pat themselves on the back after a hugely successful circus extravaganza in Emma Cons Gardens. Hundreds of pounds was raised for four local charities during Waterloo Quarter’s Business In The Big Top event, which took place during the lunchtime of Friday, November 12. Attractions including splat the banker, guess the wine bottle and win a supercar experience all proved a huge draw to the square. The smell of freshly barbecued hot dogs added to the crowds, and smiles were raised by the gunging of volunteers, painted faces and stand-out costumes. A stiltwalker, unicyclist and oompah band also added to the occasion, which was promoted by volunteers from The Good Agency and filmed by volunteers from Spectrecom. Volunteers from Wolters Kluwer, Black Architecture, Solar Century and Berkeley Residential helped raised money for Fostering Network, Choice Support, Oasis Trust and Groundwork during the event. Jessica Hill, Waterloo Quarter’s Events Manager said: “The four teams surpassed our expectations with the amount of money they raised, and I don’t think anyone stopped smiling for the whole 90 minutes of the event.” The winners of a selection of Big Top awards will be announced at a screening event on Thursday, December 16.
