| Date Set For Circus Event |
Waterloo Quarter BID's new scheme to link charities and businesses will be officially launched with a circus themed extravaganza on Friday, November 12. The lunchtime event will take place in Emma Cons Gardens opposite the Old Vic and will feature several stalls set up to let visitors enjoy the best in big top entertainment. The stalls will be manned by teams made up of local businesses and charities, who will attempt to generate as much money as possible for the good causes by creating a circus themed attraction. Each team has been given £50 to help them buy props and materials. The money must be spent in the BID area. All four teams, which are made up of staff from Wolters Kluwer, The Fostering Network, Black Architecture, Choice Support, Solar Century, Oasis Trust, Berkeley Residential Management and Groundwork, received their brief on the task on Tuesday, October 12 at The Hub cafe. All of the companies have given up their time for free, and the event will be filmed by volunteers from local video production company Spectrecom. An edited film of the event will then be presented to the teams - along with prizes - at a screening event at Spectrecom on December 16.
