Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) will put on two free events as part of Time To Get Moving Week, which begins on October 9. On Thursday, October 14, hula hoop classes and tai chi will be held on Millennium Green, opposite the Old Vic, from noon to 3pm. Sign up for the hula hooping or tai chi workshops and you will be entered into a raffle to win either 2x London Eye Tickets or a free 15 minute massage on the day. Contact Mary to sign up to a free workshop by emailing mary@bost.org.uk or calling 0207 928 6303. People who attend the event will also be able to make herbal remedies and take a free medicinal plant home. This event is suitable for adults and children and is in support of Natural Mental Health Day. If the weather is bad the event will be held in the Waterloo Action Centre, opposite the Old Vic. On Friday, October 15, BOST will take people on a free nature trip to Brockwell Park and the South London Botanical Institute. The trip will help improve wellbeing and mental health and those on it will discover botany, local history, microscopes, and will sample an optional botanical drawing workshop at the South London Botanical Institute. This will be followed by lunch and a nature walk with optional trim trail in Brockwell Park. Places are limited so booking is essential. Buses will pick up from outside the Waterloo Action Centre on Baylis Road at 10am or from the South London Botanical Institute at 11am, coming back to Waterloo for 3:30/4pm by public transport. To book a place or for further details contact Mary O'Connell on mary@bost.org.uk or call 0207 928 6303.
