In February 2009 Waterloo Quarter in partnership with the Police, the Councils and other stakeholders arranged the first Licensing Forum meeting, bringing together the landlords of all of the pubs and bars in the area, along with representatives from the Police and the Councils. The purpose of the Forum is to give opportunities for the licensed premises to meet to discuss any issues that they are currently experiencing and to work together to try to resolve them.
Since the launch of the Forum, many issues have come to light that are shared by several of the licensed premises, including football hooliganism, anti-social behaviour and crime, with often the same individuals causing the same problems. The forum has acted as an effective means of communicating these issues with the authorities so that they can work towards a solution.
