To find out about the 2011 Waterloo Quarter Food Festival, visit http://www.waterlooquarter.org/whats-on/859-waterloo-quarter-food-festival-2011 The annual Waterloo Quarter Food Festival celebrates the area’s gastronomic delights, bringing together the local cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants and food shops to organise special events and contribute special offers and prizes for customers. The Festival aims to bring more people to spend time in the area, to raise the profile of participating businesses and to attract new customers through their door. The first Food Festival took place in June 2009. 6,000 ‘gastro-passports’, featuring details of all of the events and special offers were distributed locally to Waterloo-based oragnisations and their staff as well as to local residents. Feedback for the event was extremely positive with several participating businesses reporting busy events and new customers. In 2010 the Food Festival grew to a month-long celebration, during which more than 13,500 gastro passports were handed to potential customers.
