One of the BID’s key aims is to make Waterloo a safer place for all of the area’s users, be it employees, businesses, residents or visitors. We work with a range of local partners and authorities to try to combat the most prevalent crime problems affecting businesses in the area.
Together with the local Safer Neighbourhood teams, the BID is working on a number of initiatives to reduce crime in the area. A key Police priority project is to address the problem of bag theft from employees and visitors using local pubs and bars as well as dissuading people from giving money to beggars. The BID produces awareness-raising posters and information to tie in with current Police initiatives and disseminates these amongst local businesses, particularly to the bars and pubs. If you have a crime or safety issue that you would like to be raised with the Police, or if you are interested in receiving some of the posters and information, please get in touch.
