Funding has been agreed by the Waterloo Quarter Board for decorative lighting to be installed in two trees on Kennington Road to brighten up the parade of shops on this poorly-lit street. Lights will be installed following pruning of the trees by Lambeth Council in the next couple of months. It is hoped that the tree lighting will not only improve the look and feel of the street particularly for the local retailers, but will also provide more light down the currently dark street, making it feel safer and attracting more visitors.
