Waterloo Quarter’s Green, Clean and Safe subgroup has been lobbying hard to secure better cleaning by Lambeth Council of alleys and side streets in the BID area. A much improved service has been achieved in Granby Place, which until recently, often looked like this at the end of the trading day.
The alley way, which runs alongside of the Camel & Artichoke pub, traps endless amounts of litter and is a notorious spot for drug users. As a result of the lobbying by Waterloo Quarter the local Council has stepped up its cleaning programme in the alley, which is now looking vastly improved.
