WQBA has teamed up with Wedge Card to launch a new Wedge Card@Waterloo Quarter scheme, with the aim of encouraging local residents and employees to make the most of the independent shops in the area.
Waterloo, unlike many other areas in central London, is lucky to have maintained a large quantity of
independent businesses with very few chains in the area. Wedge Card aims to re-vitalise local communities by offering a reward to customers choosing to shop locally and works with businesses to produce sustainable promotions and discounts to offer to card holders, helping to increase trade and improve customer loyalty.
The Wedge team are in the process of getting in touch with all independent businesses in the area to advise on the benefits available. With the new Southwark BID extension now up and running, there are an estimated 20,000 staff members working in Waterloo Quarter all of whom are potential customers for the businesses in the local area. To encourage the local staff to get involved, WQBA will be distributing free cards to BID businesses that are keen to provide their staff with access to discounts and promotions.
