Having been selected as the setting for a number of box-office movies in the past, including blockbusters such as Bridget Jones’ Diaries, Lower Marsh was once again chosen, this time as the location for a scene in – The Bourne Ultimatum – the third film of the Bourne Trilogy. Matt Damon, known for his roles in The Talented Mr. Ripley and Good Will Hunting was spotted filming scenes at Scooterworks in April while fans gathered outside the café/scooter shop to catch a glimpse of the actor in between takes.
Crockatt and Powell, an independent book retailer also found on Lower Marsh, recently lent their shop for scenes for a movie by Mike Leigh, director of Secrets & Lies and Vera Drake. Waterloo has always been a favourite location for TV and film companies because of the famous landmarks nearby. However, areas away from the South Bank are being discovered as an ideal location - Lower Marsh in particular - because of its unique shops and its distinct London character.
Filming is organised through the Lambeth Film Unit, on behalf of London Borough of Lambeth. If any queries arise regarding arrangements for future filming in the area, please contact us on 020 7620 1201 or
