There have been some delays to the programme as Thames Water have encountered a number of problems whilst replacing the Victorian mains. Despite these set backs, Thames Water are due to be off site shortly and it is hoped that the refurbishment team following behind will be able to catch up with the works.
A two day consultation event was held on 16th and 17th July with businesses on The Cut at the Doreen Ramsey Community Room to consult with local organisations and residents about the future management of commercial waste along the street. There was a good response from both residents and businesses and the results of the consultation will be released by the Council in due course. Any Cut businesses wishing to respond with their preferences regarding waste collections can download and return the feedback form by 10th August 2007.
Work has now begun on the footway on the southern side of The Cut. There will be a short 30 minute delay to trade whilst the new paving is laid to the door of each premises, and all businesses will be informed of when the works are planned to take place. If you experience any undue inconvenience as a result of the refurbishment programme, please contact the Scheme Project Manager, Michael Semakula on 020 7299 2828.
