Waterloo Quarter has persuaded both Lambeth and Southwark Councils to increase their cleaning schedules for the new bins on The Cut and Waterloo Road from a bi-annual to a weekly service.
The arrival of the new 'Geo' stainless steel bins from December last year has been a welcome improvement to the quality of the street furniture, but unfortunately the previous cleaning regime was not sufficient to preserve their appearance. They had rapidly become heavily stained with spilt drink and cigarette ash.
The new service started in both boroughs from 16th August and has already shown a marked improvement as the following pictures illustrate. |
