WQBA has been liaising with local partners, to repair some recent damage which occurred to the planting in Emma Cons Gardens towards the end of last year. The damage, which is thought to have been caused during the works on Waterloo Brasserie, was mainly along the northern edge of the gardens, destroying much of the planting that had been taking place over the previous months.
WQBA has been working with Lambeth Council, Putting Down Roots (a programme organised by St Mungo’s, London’s leading homeless charity) and the Waterloo Brasserie to ensure that the garden is returned to its former state, creating an attractive contrast to the surrounding concrete and traffic whilst also keeping the views into and out of the Brasserie open.
In 2007, WQBA commissioned the enhanced planting of the gardens to improve the gardens, bringing more colour to the area on the corner of Waterloo Road and The Cut.
The works are due to start this week with additional turf being laid in March. For further information, feel free to get in touch with us at
