Changes to parking rules | Print |  E-mail
New parking regulations are coming into force across the country in April, introducing larger fines for serious offences, such as parking on double yellow lines; and lower ones for minor wrongdoings, such as overstaying at a parking meter.

Other changes to the regulations include:
  • Local authorities will be able to enforce rules and allocate fines using CCTV footage, rather than using the “real-time” ticketing method given to drivers or fixed to their cars. Tickets will therefore arrive through the post after the alleged offence
  • The appeals system will be made easier with drivers being given the benefit of the doubt in any disputes
  • Councils will no longer be able to use parking fines as a way of raising revenue or be able to set targets for the amount of tickets issued.

If you have any queries relating to the new parking regulations, please feel free to get in touch with us at 020 7620 1201 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , and we will put you in touch with the relevant person at the Council.
