CILT works to convince people of all ages, at all stages of learning and in all walks of life, of the benefits of learning and using more than one language. Using expertise as the National Centre for Languages, CILT work to influence policy, spread best practice and support the development of language professionals.

 

CILT support the Department for Children, Schools & Families in implementing policies to improve the teaching and learning of languages and provide independent advice on all aspects of language teaching, learning and use, and are the UK standard-setting body for languages and provide advice, intelligence and other services for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills.
