Metro Safety ‘Dragons‘ Inspire Young People

Blackfriars Road based Metro Safety is helping with The Challenge Network charity project this summer. This youth and community programme is funded by the Cabinet Office and Department of Education and helps young people to connect across diverse social backgrounds, build self-awareness and responsibility, and mobilise change in their community. The culmination of The Challenge is a ‘Dragons Den’ pitch event where each team of young people has to make a presentation to a board of ‘Dragons’ for funding to help them with their project.

The teams at Metro have come up with some innovative ideas around the themes of drama, photography, and sport. Andrew Paten, Metro Safety’s managing director said: ‘I attended the Challenge Programme at South Bank University on 4th August. It was my first experience as a “Dragon” and I have to say that it was great fun and I and the other “Dragons” were genuinely very impressed at what these youngsters had managed to do in the previous 3 weeks. They had clearly all come together as effective teams, they had great ideas for raising awareness and funds for some important local community issues and they presented these with passion and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see and a privilege to help in a small way.’
