![]() The business: Company of Angels, 126 Cornwall Road, London, SE1 8TQ The producer: Virginia Leaver. Describe Company of Angels: “We produce new and experimental theatre for young audiences. We mainly work with young people aged 15 to 25, and last year 1,500 young people accessed or participated in our work.” What do you like about Waterloo? “As the years have gone on we have become more emotionally attached to the area and there are some lovely local businesses like Konditor and Cook and Meson don Felipe.” How many employees do you have? “There are six of us. We have just taken on a part-time marketing officer. But just because we are a small theatre it doesn’t mean we don’t have the same ambitions as a multi national marketing company or international firm of architects.” What is your flagship event? “The jewel in our crown is a theatre café festival which showcases our work bi-annually. It is run at the Unicorn Theatre and Southwark Playhouse so has a strong SE1 connection, but people come from all over Europe to attend it.” Any recent successes? “We have just achieved National Portfolio status, meaning the Arts Council has agreed to fund us until 2015. We have also recently been commissioned to create four short films on equality which will be shown in every secondary school in the country.” ++ Company of Angels is looking for a corporate partner who would be willing to invest funds into an ongoing two way relationship.
