WATERLOO Quarter BID’s collections diverted 556 tonnes of waste from landfill in 2010.
A total of 522 tonnes were recycled, saving the equivalent of 2,761 trees throughout the year.
This year has seen recycling collections increase to twice a week because of demand and Katie Lindsay, the BID’s environment and public realm manager, said: “Our businesses can be really proud of such a fantastic effort.”
