Thursday Collections Prove A Success

Waterloo’s recycling rates have continued to be boosted by our new Thursday collections.

The Thursday collections began on August 26, and are in addition to the Tuesday collections which take place at the same time – 3pm to 5pm.

Businesses have been leaving their distinctive purple sacks out in droves – meaning more trees are being saved and less harmful greenhouse gases are being produced.

Katie Lindsay, environment and public realm project manager for the BID, said: “It’s great that businesses have reacted so positively to the extra collections.”

++ The BID is planning to introduce a six month food waste pilot which will see 10 businesses benefit from collections of scraps. The pilot will be funded by the European Regional Development Fund. If you would like to be considered as one of the 10 businesses, call Katie Lindsay on 020 7620 1309.
