Launch Of Smart Green Business

Small and medium sized enterprises can benefit from free cost saving environmental advice services thanks to the launch of the new Smart Green Business scheme.

Smart Green Business was launched on Wednesday, September 22 at City Hall.

Speakers at the launch event included Martin Powell, the Mayor of London's advisor on the environment, who said: "Going green is a win-win for businesses, helping them save money off running costs and look after the environment.

"We welcome innovative initiatives such as Smart Green Business and urge businesses to get involved."

Smart Green Business offers professional advice and support across seven different areas: recycling, environmental performance, environmental policy and management, resource efficiency clubs, travel planning, green procurement and knowledge transfer partnerships.

In addition to saving money and reducing their environmental impact small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) can also benefit from improved efficiency, a boost to staff morale and access to new opportunities and business.

Smart Green Business is funded by Business Improvement Districts, including Waterloo Quarter, and the European Regional Development Fund.
