How many employees do you have: “We have three full time and one part time employee.”

How long have you been running the business? “About 15 months.”

Describe the business: “We are a family run café. Our slogan is Better Choice, Better Quality, Better Value.”

What sets you apart from other cafés? “We update our menus regularly, we place an emphasis on quality fresh food and we always give our customers excellent value for money.”

Tell us a little known fact about the business: “Jasmine’s real name is Hasmik. Jasmine is the English version of her Armenian name. She moved here 20 years ago and fell in love with British food immediately. We also ask our customers to write jokes in our menus.”

What are your recent successes? “We have just been awarded five stars out of five in Lambeth Council’s Scores on the Doors food hygiene scheme, and we have begun selling home-made beef burgers which have been a big hit with our customers.”

How do you attract new customers? “We have begun updating our offers and shop fronts regularly, but 90 per cent of our trade comes from repeat customers.”

What is the best thing about the business? “Seeing our customers. We have a great relationship with the people that come in.”

What are your plans for the future? “We want to expand our delivery and corporate catering service.”
