Hollywood Help - £1,000 for Lower Marsh

Lower Marsh has a thousand reasons to be grateful to the company behind major new film One Day.

The street has been handed a cheque for £1,000 as a thank you for its help in the production of the Film4 movie, which stars Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway.

The money will be spent for the benefit of people who live and work in and visit Lower Marsh.

It will be allocated by the newly formed Film Funding Panel which will be made up of representatives from local businesses and residents and administered by Waterloo Quarter BID.

The street received the cheque after Hadrian Productions pledged to make a thank you payment to Lower Marsh for filming around the Cubana end of the street on July 19 and 20.

BID director of operations Helen Santer said: “This is great news and I am sure the panel will choose some great projects to support with the cash.”

More details on how to apply for film panel funding will appear in future editions of the monthly Waterloo Quarter newsletter.
