| Rail link from Waterloo to Heathrow? |
|
The Heathrow Airtrack project proposes to connect Heathrow directly to the South West Trains rail network, offering a direct service to Waterloo.
4 kilometres of new rail will be required to connect Terminal 5 with the existing Windsor line near Staines to then provide services between Heathrow and Waterloo; Reading and Guildford. Indications are that running times between Heathrow and Waterloo will be 40 to 42 minutes with stops proposed at Staines, Feltham, Twickenham, Richmond and Clapham Junction. Direct services are proposed every 30 minutes in each direction on each route. Roger Tym and Partners have been commissioned by Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) to study the spatial effects of the Heathrow Airtrack project. They would welcome the opinions of Waterloo-based businesses on the project, particularly the extent to which it would impact on your business’ efficiency and performance.
