Community Engagement

Waterloo Quarter has appointed The Means to undertake a research project with local businesses to assess their interest in developing a programme of area wide activity that could support them in the delivery of their Corporate Responsibility objectives.

Corporate (Social) Responsibility is increasingly a focus for businesses that are assessing their performance not just in terms of output, but against the ‘triple bottom line’ of environmental, social and economic performance. Businesses in Waterloo Quarter’s CSR group have expressed an interest in creating more formal links between businesses in the area and local charities and community groups to share resources, expertise and volunteering opportunities. We are also investigating the potential of developing a ‘volunteer bank’ to broker opportunities in the BID area.

If you are a local business interested in taking part in this research, or a charity or local community group that would like to strengthen your links with local businesses, please contact Helen Santer at hsanter@waterlooquarter.org for more information.

The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards for businesses that have made a positive difference to their local communities are now open for nominations. Visit www.dragonawards.org.uk for more information.
