Cycle Access in the BID Area

The mayor of London and Transport for London are launching the cycle hire scheme for central London this summer. As part of the scheme, Lambeth has received funds from Transport for London to improve cycle access and safety in the areas around the docking stations. Docking stations within the BID area will be located on Lower Marsh, Baylis Road and Frazier Street.

Lambeth are looking to improve cycle accessibility by allowing two way cycling on Frazier Street between Baylis Road and Lower Marsh. They have proposed minimal changes to the road, involving alterations to signs and road markings. Lambeth have compared Frazier Street to similar narrow streets in Paris and Brussels where two way cycling is allowed and has worked safely and effectively. Lambeth intend to still allow motor vehicles to travel one way down the street with car parking unaffected.

A statutory consultation will take place this spring inviting you to comment on the proposed two way cycling on Frazier Street.
