Hot Washing in the BID Area

Waterloo Quarter is working to make Waterloo a cleaner place to do business. The first street cleansing of the year has been scheduled for the week commencing 8th March on all of the streets in the BID area. The project, which includes a steam clean and chewing gum removal treatment of the pavements aims to brighten up the streets and rid the pavements of the stains left by dirt, grease and chewing gum. Following this programme, a treatment will be applied to the pavement on The Cut, the junction of Emma Cons and the pavement between Waterloo Road and Spur Road. The treatment protects the surface from weathering and repels chewing gum, water, airborne dirt, among other pollutants and as a result means that rain water removes most stains as the grime is prevented from sticking to the pavement. These services are provided in addition to the Council services, which only offer street sweeping.

All businesses will be notified by our contractors Gum Clear in advance of the cleaning shift taking place outside of their premises to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.

Look out for the hot-washing team out on the streets from Monday 8th March. For more information, please contact the BID on 020 7620 1201 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
