Plans for Imprima House on Waterloo Road to be converted to student accommodation have been revealed. The proposal includes 37 apartments which will contain 145 bedrooms and ground level retail units. Planning permission was previously granted by Southwark Council for a seven story office building but it failed to generate any interest. ![]() Dialogue who is working with UNITE student accommodation on their proposals for 268-282 Waterloo Road held a public drop-in session at Living Space on Monday 1st February to get feedback on the proposals ahead of submitting a planning application later this Spring. The addition of the students to the area would have a positive impact on the local economy, especially the Southern end of Waterloo Road. UNITE suggest students spend on average over £7,700 each a year locally. Generating a combined spend from this student residence of £1.1 million a year in Waterloo. Unite is the largest provider of student accommodation in the UK, they generally have 51 week tenancy agreements and prohibit sub-letting avoiding causing too much disruption from students moving in and out of the building.
