FREE Textile and WEEE Recycling in Lambeth

Lambeth have implemented a new recycling service in the Borough, offering textiles and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling with collections from the kerbside outside of your business.

Simply, put your unwanted textiles or WEEE in separate bin liners and pick up a Textile/WEEE sticker from Waterloo Library on Lower Marsh, or attach a note on the bags marked ‘For collection by Lambeth Council’.
When you are ready for a collection, call Lambeth Council on 020 7926 9000 to arrange

a date.

Lambeth Council can collect most WEEE items under this service except for fridges, freezers, white goods, TVs and monitors as these items contain hazardous chemicals. They can also collect most textiles except duvets, pillows and sleeping bags.

For the full list of items that can be recycled please visit  www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/Environment/RubbishWasteRecycling/TextileAndWEEERecycling.htm

Once Lambeth have collected items, textiles will be sent by BCR Global to developing countries for reuse as wearable clothing. Any items that are unsuitable for reuse will be recycled into industrial wipers or stuffing for dashboards, mattresses and upholstery. WEEE items will be recycled into new product by SWEEEP Recycling.
