Small businesses in London are generally entitled to Small Business Rate Relief if their rateable value is below £21,500. Many businesses in the Waterloo area fall into this category.
 The rate relief depends on the rateable value of your premises, with a 50% reduction for any businesses with a rateable value below £5,000 and a sliding scale of smaller reductions for businesses with a rateable value up to £21,500. To check the rateable value of your business, visit the Valuation Office Agency website www.voa.gov.uk and look at your premises under the 2005 Rating Lists section. Alternatively, give one of the BID team a call on 020 7620 1201 and we would be happy to check this for you.
To claim relief, contact Lambeth Council's business rates team on 020 8315 2255 and they will send you the relevant claim form. Alternatively, you can download a form from the Council's website here.
