Thames Water works in The Cut
Thames Water will be moving into The Cut on 16th January to undertake essential mains replacement works as part of its borough-wide Victorian Mains Replacement Programme.

The work in The Cut involves replacing the mains on both sides of the road. The walkways and carriageway will be kept open as much as possible during the works to minimise the disruption to businesses.

The north side of the street will be worked on using an open-cut method. As a result of this, the longest any business will be without water is likely to be around 1 hour. If your business will not be able to function without water for this period of time, please advise the WQBA staff team and we will liaise with Thames Water to try to arrange an alternative supply.

On the south side of the street, an insertion method will be used, which will result in businesses being off mains water all day. These businesses will all be provided with a ‘rider pipe' to ensure that they still have a water supply throughout the day.

If you have any further questions about the works, which will last for a period of around 11 weeks, please contact the Thames Water project office on 020 8213 8798.
