PaveSave pilot a success
The pilot of a new ‘PaveSave' treatment on Lower Marsh has been a resounding success. The treatment is best described as a ‘scotchguard for stone' and prevents substances like gum, grease and dirt from sticking to the pavement keeping them cleaner for longer. Rather than sticking to the pavement, gum is swept up by Lambeth Council's daily street sweeps.

The second of the twice yearly gum removal and steam clean has also taken place in the last week with dramatic results, as can be seen when comparing the cleanliness of the pavement before and after cleaning.

In the 6 weeks since the pilot the untreated stretch already has a build up of gum, whereas the treated surface has hardly any.
