Promoting Christmas shopping in Waterloo
On Friday 5th December, an Art, Craft & Design fair is taking place at Waterloo Action Centre, selling a range of gifts from independent designer-makers. Waterloo retailers were offered the opportunity to make the most of the shoppers visiting the event by taking on a stall to promote their products. At the event, designer-makers will be using the new Waterloo Quarter branded ‘bags for life' as an alternative to carrier bags, and information will be available to shoppers promoting the area's unique retail offer along with voucher booklets for local businesses.

Throughout December, Southbank Centre's Cologne Christmas Market will be taking place with a variety of gifts and festive food on sale. Waterloo Quarter BID is keen to make the most of the increased footfall in the local area and as a result has arranged to distribute Waterloo Christmas shopping maps and guides, along with voucher booklets with special offers at Waterloo Quarter businesses, to visitors to the market, encouraging them to make the journey south of the railway tracks to discover alternative shopping opportunities. Attractive maps of the Waterloo Quarter area are also going up around the Southbank Centre with directions to Lower Marsh and The Cut, highlighting the unique shops and products on offer.
