| Road closure on The Cut for Festa! celebrations |
Saturday 16th August will see the Young Vic's production of Festa as part of their annual community event. This year sees the Brazilian-themed celebrations, including theatre, dancing and music performances, featuring over 100 members of the Lambeth and Southwark community. The show will start in the Young Vic and flow out onto The Cut celebrating traditional Brazilian stories of love and desire through song and dance. On the day a road closure will be in operation on The Cut (between Hatfields and Cornwall Road and Greet Street (between The Cut and Cons Street). These streets will be closed to traffic from 8am untill 11pm, and there will be no vehicular access to The Cut from any of the side roads.
Access will be provided to residents and businesses and the pavement will remain open for pedestrians.
The Cut's street cleaning and rubbish collection will still go ahead, however the council's afternoon street collection times for businesses along The Cut will be altered so they don't clash with performance times.
