 Waterloo Quarter will shortly be inviting charities within the BID area to apply to become the 2008 Charity of the Year. The Charity of the Year, which is scheduled to begin in September, will enable the chosen charity to partner the BID to organise joint activities and events and to raise awareness of the charity amongst businesses in the area as well as staff working locally.
This year saw the first partnership between Waterloo Quarter and the Children's Country Holidays Fund, which involved activities such as a pub quiz series at venues across the BID area and a networking event for all local businesses. We are keen to develop the scheme further this year and make the most of the partnership opportunities between charitable organisations and businesses.
The BID features an abundance of charities, all in need of business support, volunteers and to raise their profile. We will shortly be sending a pack out to all charities outlining the opportunity and including an application form.
