WQBA in Urban Design Compendium
Produced by English Partnerships and The Housing Corporation and supported by the Urban Design Alliance, the Urban Design Compendium provides guidance on achieving quality urban design, summarising its principles and how they can be applied, and the processes which lead to successful places. The publication is produced to help tackle issues surrounding the area of urban design and regeneration, using a variety of examples from the UK and overseas.

WQBA is featured in this year's edition as an example of an organisation that, through working closely with local stakeholders, is attempting to reverse the decline of the area caused by lack of investment and post-war planning.

“The BID has set about reversing this decline by strategically focusing investment over a sustained period to enable retailers to prosper and to help the many offices in Waterloo to retain staff in London's competitive job market. Being based locally means BID staff work well not only with their members, but with other community organisations in Waterloo ensuring coordinated local action”
