| Annual Party At The Old Vic Tunnels |
The Old Vic Tunnels played host to more than 100 people at Waterloo Quarter’s annual party on Thursday, November 24th. Attendees enjoyed a chance to explore the unusual venue, network and watch presentations to businesses for their outstanding commitment to the area. Richard Bell, owner of The Three Stags in Kennington Road, was presented with the Smart Green Business award for his efforts to improve the environment while reducing his overheads. A group of employees from charity InterHealth and Blackfriars Road business Metro Safety won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team Challenge Award after they secured a number of pledges of support for InterHealth. The other charities which received pledges of support were Groundwork and the Fostering Network. The full list of pledges raised by the competition is below. Pledges for InterHealth (helped by Metro Safety) Morley College: A two-hour creative writing workshop for 20 people at InterHealth and either a mural, art workshop or animation for InterHealth. Pledges for Groundwork (helped by Solar Century) Nutrition Clinic London: 45 minute facial treatment for a Groundwork volunteer. Pledges for The Fostering Network (helped by Spectrecom) Spectrecom: Creation of a short film for a national fundraising campaign, filming and editing 10 talking head interviews with foster parents, creation of a YouTube page and help with search engine optimisation, event space, work experience for foster children and help for foster children to create their own video. Celebrity Sarah Greene will also front a video appeal for new foster parents created by Spectrecom, and the video production company will feature The Fostering Network on their website for three months.
