Christmas Celebration In Waterloo

Waterloo’s Christmas tree lights were switched on at a special community event on Thursday, December 1st.

The festive tree has been erected opposite the Old Vic as part of the BID’s ongoing promotion of the area.

It complements Christmas lights in The Cut, Waterloo Road, Blackfriars Road, Kennington Road and Lower Marsh which are paid for by Waterloo Quarter.

The tree lights were switched-on by representatives from Metro Safety in Blackfriars Road and InterHealth in Westminster Bridge Road, as the two organisations had won Waterloo Quarter’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) challenge.

A choir from Morley College, a brass band and hot sangria from Cubana added to the festive spirit, and a Christmas market with guest traders was also held on Lower Marsh.
