Southwark BID extension
WQBA began its initial consultation with businesses in the proposed Southwark BID extension area last week. The proposed area for the extension covers the full length of The Cut (currently split by the borough boundary), and Blackfriars Road as far south as St George's Circus. If successful, the new Waterloo Quarter area will be the first town centre BID to straddle two boroughs.

Our intention in extending the BID area is to cover the more natural Waterloo ‘town centre' and provide a unified approach to the development of the commercial area. The extension will also spread the benefits of our current projects to more organisations, while at the same time through greater funding, implement new larger schemes across the area as a whole.

The first Consultation Document has now been delivered to all businesses in the area outlining WQBA's structure and achievements to date, as well as our intended projects should the ballot in February 2008 be successful.
